14.–16. 03. 2025 Ayn-Rand-Convention in Berlin

The Ayn Rand Institute announced the event this way: „Designed for students of Objectivism ready to take the next step on their journey, AynRandCon-Europe will give you a chance to meet Ayn Rand University faculty, including prominent Objectivist intellectuals such as Onkar Ghate and Nikos Sotirakopoulos. (…) Learn more about pursuing an intellectual career in Objectivism.” The event focused on young persons/students under 35 years. The name giving author Ayn Rand is famous in the right-wing libertarian movements as she spoke out for a capitalism without any restrictions and regulations.

There has been no report by the institute or media coverage in Germany. Following social media posts several dozens attendants met in the Berlin Dorint Hotel and listened to lectures from Tal Tsfany or discussions with Nikos Sotirakopoulos and YouTuber TIKhistory from UK. Following the documentation of the conference there had been participants from Canada, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Georgia, Israel, Ireland, Italy and Bulgaria.

The Germans Stefan Griese (Stendal, Saxony-Anhalt) and Max Remke from Liberty Rising and jung.liberal.kapitalistisch e.V. (jlk) participated. Griese and other German participants (like Zeinab Herz, Christoph Singer and Lars Dubrau) are also affiliated to the Junge Liberale, the Youth wing of the liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP) and involved in the campaign #FDPzweistellig (FDP two digit) to push the party over the 5% thrashhold in the next federal elections. The group jlk promotes libertarian authors like Ludwig von Mises and Ayn Rand in their program.

A deep insight into the network of Liberty Rising and Students for Liberty was published by Rhein-Main Rechtsaußen.

A parlamentiary inquiry by the party ‘Die Linke’ about the event did not receive any substantial results.
