"Viento de Cambio" right-wing libertarian conference in Buenos Aires

President Milei and the Argentine ministers of Foreign Affairs (Pablo Quirno), Economy (Luis Caputo), and Deregulation (Federico Sturzenegger) participated in the right-wing libertarian conference Vientos de Cambio (“Winds of Change”) in Buenos Aires on September 1 and 2. Peter Thiel, who had initially been announced as a speaker, was apparently not in attendance, though there were plenty of other prominent figures from Latin America. Representatives from many right-wing think tanks, such as the Mises Institute, Fundación Faro, and the Archbridge Institute, served as speakers. The conference was organized by Libertad y Progreso, the foundation that—under the leadership of economist Benegas Lynch—collaborated closely with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (which has ties to the FDP) and had helped propel Javier Milei to power.
