03.–06. 06. 2026 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026 with AfD delegates

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026 took place with some delegates from German AfD.

Members of Parliament Markus Frohnmaier, speaker for Foreign Affairs, Jörg Urban, Petr Bystron and Steffen Kotré attended the meetings. Frohnmaier joined a panel together with Andrej Klimow, one of the architects of the "Foreign Agents" bill in Russia, Alexej Puschkow, and Marija Sacharowa reported Der SPIEGEL.
Urban, Bystron and Kotré discussed about diplomacy and cultural relations.

The Forum had been boycotted by German politicians since the full-scale invasion of the Ukraine. Also several German entrepreneurs visited St. Petersburg, including Holger Friedrich from the German media Berliner Zeitung.
