Pablo Munoz Iturrieta – connecting Trump, the AfD and anti-abortion politics in person
Verfasst von: Ulli Jentsch
Campaigning for Trump, racism and Nazi comparisons: the organizers of the annual anti-feminist March for Life in Berlin on September 21st, 2024, had invited a radical right-winger from Canada to appear twice at one weekend. Pablo Munoz Iturrieta had been traveling to conferences and conventions of the Global Far Right for years, spreading his fundamental Christian and anti-democratic propaganda: against migration, against human rights for LGBTIQ+ in particular and against progressive rights of sexual and reproductive self-determination in general.
The christian-conservative organizers of the Bundesverband Lebensrecht (BVL – ‚Federal Association for the Right to Life‘) behind Alexandra Linder were providing the stage for a Trump supporter who was campaigning for the former president in the US election campaign, while amongst others spreading the infamous racist rumors against the Haitian population of Springfield.
On September 21st Iturrieta held a mostly moderate speech at the Brandenburg Gate in the city center of Berlin. His speech in German language (!) is documented on video here (starting at 00:41:00). Two days later he congratulated the AfD candidate Lena Kotré for her victory with the words „¡Viva AFD carajo!!!!!“ that resonate the battle cry of the far-right authoritarian president of Argentina, Javier Milei. No further comment to Iturrieta was made by the organizing BVL who strictly denies close ties to the AfD although reknown members like Beatrix von Storch participate regularly as she also did this year.
